How can you tell if an Android app is safe?
The location of the torch or flashlight function on your device will depend on the make and model of your device.
Older devices and operating systems will have the torch function available as a widget; newer devices will have the torch available in the notifications bar.

Choose the Torch icon to turn the light on or off(If the Torch icon is not displayed immediately, choose the Expand button (this can be displayed as an arrow pointing down or two lines)
