Jun 08, 2015 ive posted this in other threads, but heres life of Pi 4k (from my UHD samsung pack) VS the HDR clip. As you can see, the HDR clip much more pleasing to the eye, bringing out better detail on shadow areas as well as better color reproduction as well. The tiger, the boat, and the entire back sky is much more pleasing.

If you own an OLED, do yourselves a favor and grab Life of Pi Blu-Ray and watch it. I was blown away the entire length of the movie by this TV and movie itself is pretty good too. This movie was made for an OLED tv with its vibrant colors and it is the best content I have watched and it is not even in 4K or HDR.

Honestly the way this TV upscales and how good sharp the picture is I see no need to put the 3D version on. Also, as good as Blu-Ray looks what is the point of UHD?

BTW Life of Pi contains wrong metadata.....no mastering display color volume or content metadata.....all data's are zero, not sure how it will look at each display; when the display is reading properly all the metadata for it's internal gamut/tone mapping algorithm.

3D is the only way I watch it, with the presentation being that good. I also have a preference of 3D over UHD. UHD can eek out a little more detail, but you have to have pretty sharp vision and a fairly close seating distance to take advantage.

I watched the HDR version streamed on the JS9500 when I had it. Very impressive imo

Stranger Things on Netflix also blew me away with its quality. It's not HDR but was filmed on RED 6K cameras with Leica lenses. There are some scenes where there is just a character floating in black space that may as well have been made to show off OLED.
